A 'colony' is a group of beavers. They keep their family groups small and are thought to be lovebirds, with one partner for life. Beavers are rodents, and they belong to the same family as rats and mice. But they're a lot bigger! An adult beaver can weigh as much as 1,500 mice.

Schleich's Beaver is an impressive model of the famously hardworking dam-builder. This unusually busy and hardworking mammal is shown walking, with its front right leg raised mid-step. It is almost entirely light brown, with beautiful furry detailing on its body to highlight its woolly fur, and dark brown eyes, nose, webbed feet, and large scaly tail. This eager beaver will make an excellent addition to your wild animal collection.
