Simmental cattle have a long history dating back to the Middle Ages. According to early accounts, Simmental cattle are the result of a mix between huge German cattle and a smaller Swiss variety. The name Simmental is derived from the Simme Valley, which is located in the Berner Oberland in Switzerland, where the cattle were first reared.
 
With its shiny eyes and intricate hooves, this cow is an excellent addition to any Schleich farm collection.
