Order processing
We work hard to prepare your orders as quickly as possible with the aim of having your order processed and out the door within two business days (with the exception of busy periods such as sales and holidays). We'll do our best to let you know if there are any unexpected hold-ups.
Items available for pre-order will be sent once the stock has arrived and is ready to go - pre-order items are an exception to our two business day dispatch goal.
You will receive an email or text with shipping confirmation once your order is on its way.
During busy periods, the website sometimes allows multiple purchases for a single item. Where this happens, orders will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received. Refunds will be processed for subsequent orders where there is no stock available. No back-orders will be offered.
Packaging
You will notice your parcel may be in re-used packaging - yep, you're right. We reduce and re-use our consumption as much as we can. If the stock we receive comes in packaging that is clean and sturdy, we'll keep it to re-use another time. We hope you might also find an opportunity to re-use the packaging once you've opened your delivery.
Where we can, we'll avoid using plastic packaging to ship your items but sometimes it is the most effective way to reduce transport and vehicle use, as well as managing shipping costs for both of us.
We also use recyclable, degradable and compostable papers and wrapping, filling and satchels. Please do your best to re-use, recycle or compost.
Domestic shipping
We offer standard and express post shipping via Australia Post and other delivery partners, with a ceiling price of $25.00, within Australia (depending on your location).
We also offer free shipping for orders above $175 (exclusions apply for bulky items, as per item description).
Please note that choosing Express Post does not mean your package will be processed faster, as all orders are shipped in the order in which they are received. Please get in contact with us if you need your order sent urgently and we will do our best to accommodate this. We post via Australia Post Express Post and once it leaves our store, it is up to Australia Post to meet the Express Post requirements.
We aim to keep prices as low as possible so we do our best to keep on top of the most cost-effective and reliable shipping options and we reassess rates whenever possible.
Orders to PO boxes can only be sent via Australia Post.
Bulky items may need to be sent by courier and require a physical address for shipment - we cannot send these to PO boxes. All parcels will be sent with Authority to Leave (ATL) unless Signature on Delivery is requested at the time of placing an order.
Express post to rural locations
Express Post to some rural and remote locations is not available due to the high postage prices. In this case, a bulky item charge will be incurred and the item will be sent via standard post or Courier. This may include NT, WA and remote country locations.
Products sent directly from our distributors
Please read the product description of the items you are purchasing. For any products held by and shipped directly from our distributor this will be clearly stated in the product description. This information also includes anything you need to know about shipping costs for these items, dependent on your location.
We occasionally ship directly from our distributors to help reduce our footprint on the environment - one less delivery means one less vehicle on the road. Shipping direct from a distributor attracts a separate postage cost. These cannot be combined with items being sent from the store, which will have their own shipping costs.
Please note that items sent direct from the distributor are not able to be shipped internationally.
Bulky Shipping
Items and/or orders classed as bulky/heavy will incur a bulky shipping rate of $28.00 for bulky and $36.00 for extra bulky items.
Due to limitations within our system, orders with more than one bulky item will be charged any additional shipping costs manually after the order is placed, as only one bulky shipping amount is able to be applied automatically during the checkout process. You will receive an invoice for the amount outstanding within 24 hours after your order. Once paid, your order will be shipped.
Alternatively, some items are eligible for our standard shipping charges dependent on location, whereas some locations will attract our bulky shipping fee. This is something that cannot be picked up by our system, however we will be in contact if this charge is applicable to your order. Any items where a bulky item shipping charge may be required are marked as so in the item description. These are system limitations which we hope will change in time as Shopify evolves and becomes more sophisticated, to make it easier for both you and for us. Until then, we thank you for your understanding!
For large orders, please contact us for an accurate shipping quote. Large orders will incur a freight charge which will be invoiced after your order is placed.
International shipping
We offer international shipping on select items. Please email us for a delivery quote once you've submitted your order - shop@helloyoungster.com.au
Items damaged in transit
Once an item has left our store, Hello Youngster accepts no responsibility for any damage that may occur in transit or items lost in transit. We recommend that postage insurance is requested at the time of placing your order for an additional fee if these issues are a priority for you.
If you are wanting to make a claim for a damaged or lost item, the proper process will need to be followed in order for a replacement or refund to be processed. This may include taking your damaged items into an Australia Post outlet for them to be assessed or lodging an enquiry with Australia Post.
Click and collect
Order collection is available during our store opening hours, simply select 'local pickup' at the checkout. You will receive a notification when your order is ready to pick up. Once you receive your notification, please confirm the day and time you expect to pick up your order via email to shop@helloyoungster.com.au
Local Delivery
We will be starting a new local delivery service soon, including a same day and 2-hour delivery service. We are currently reviewing local delivery partners and will add this as an option at the checkout once it's all settled.
Returns
Please refer to our return and refund policy.

Festive season cut-off dates
The cutoff dates below are issued by Australia Post. We are unable to guarantee packages will arrive in the proposed timeframe.
