Calling local makers

Do you have something special for kids and families?

At Hello Youngster, we're all about helping children build their skills to prepare them for an exciting future as creative thinkers and engaged citizens. And, we know there's no shortage of creativity and brilliant ideas right here in our own backyard.

We proudly stock locally designed or produced goods both in-store and online. So, if you're a local designer or maker with a product that belongs in the hands of playful little humans (or their grown-ups), we'd love to hear from you.

Whether you're just starting out or already have an established product line, there could be a place for your work at Hello Youngster.

What we're looking for

We welcome proposals across all categories for children, including:

  • Toys, games and puzzles
  • Educational and STEM content
  • Gear for sport or music
  • Sensory-focused products
  • Kid's accessories
  • Books and creative content
  • Stationery, kits or things that spark learning, creativity or imagination.

We particularly like things that could be considered eco-friendly and sustainable.

If it's something you've designed or made yourself - and it's safe, thoughtful and fun - we're keen to see it!

Ways we work with makers

Depending on what works for you and your product, we offer a few different methods:

  • Wholesale: You sell to us at a wholesale price and we take it from there. Ideal for makers at an advanced stage of making and selling their product.
  • Consignment: You retain ownership until we sell it on your behalf and we take a commission from each sale. Ideal for early stage or experimental products.
  • Collaborations or limited editions: Got a bigger idea in mind? We occasionally team up with makers to co-create exclusive or seasonal products. Let's chat.

We're flexible and happy to explore the right fit with you.

What we expect

To keep things smooth, safe and professional for everyone, we ask that all products meet a few basic requirements:

  • Compliant with relevant Australian safety standards (especially for kids' products)
  • Appropriate and durable packaging for retail sale (sustainable if possible)
  • Product and public liability insurance
  • Clearly defined pricing (including wholesale or consignment pricing)
  • Consistency in how the product is priced and presented across all sales channels - yours and ours.

Not sure if you've got everything ready? No worries. Just submit what you can - we're happy to talk it through and help you fill in any gaps.

Submission checklist

Here's what we'll ask you for in the application form:

  • Your name, business name and ABN
  • Product images and description
  • RRP (recommended retail price) and wholesale/consignment pricing
  • Other stores who stock this product (in-store or online)
  • Proof of safety compliance
  • Insurance documentation
  • Stock availability and restock turnaround
  • Packaging and display notes
  • A short maker bio or backstory (we love a good origin story!)
  • Permission to use your product and your name and story in our promotions (social media, traditional media and other promotions).

You can also upload extra notes or tell us where you're at - this isn't a test :)

Let's do this

Submit your product proposal

We review proposals regularly and aim to get back to you within 14 days. If your product is a fit, we'll be in touch with the next steps. If it's not quite right for us right now, we'll still let you know and keep you in mind for future opportunities.
