Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions are to be read with the information provided on the Hello Youngster artwork competition website page, the entry form and FAQs. 

  1. Overview
    The Hello Youngster Greeting Card Art Competition invites children from Kinder to Grade 10 to submit original artwork for use on greeting cards to be sold in-store and online. Winners will have their artwork featured in our birthday card range and receive royalties for every card sold.
  2. Eligibility
  • Entrants must be currently enrolled in Kinder to Grade 10 and reside or attend school locally.
  • Each submission must include parent/guardian consent, either via the online entry form or by submitting a signed entry form for email/in-person submissions. 
  • All artwork must be original and created solely by the entrant.
  • Artwork must be suitable for a birthday card featuring an age number from 1 to 15.
  1. Artwork requirements
  • Artwork must be designed for the front of an A6 greeting card (portrait orientation).
  • Artwork must clearly feature the age number (e.g., "3", "9", "15").
  • Artwork may be hand-drawn or digitally created but must be entirely the work of the child.
  • No AI-generated artwork, copyrighted characters, trademarks or offensive imagery will be accepted.
  • Submissions must be in high-quality JPG, PNG or PDF format.
  1. Submission process
  • Entries can be submitted by: a) Uploading artwork via the competition landing page and completing the online entry form; b) Emailing to shop@helloyoungster.com.au along with a completed entry form; c) Dropping off artwork at Hello Youngster, 103 Victoria Ave, Albert Park and completing a printed entry form in store.
  • Parent/guardian consent is required for all entries, either via the online form, submitting a signed form via email or by submitting a signed paper form.
  • Deadline for submissions is 3pm on Sunday 20 April 2025. Late entries will not be accepted. 
  1. Selection and notification
  • Entries will be judged according to the criteria published on the Hello Youngster website, and other factors that may arise during the judging process. 
  • Hello Youngster will select one or more winning entries per age number or may choose not to select any if no suitable entries are received.
  • Winners will be notified by email and winning entries will be announced on Hello Youngster's website and social media on Monday 28 April 2025, according to permissions given by parents/guardians for publication or otherwise of the child's name.
  • Decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. 
  1. Royalties
  • A royalty of 3% of the retail sale price (excluding GST) will be paid for each greeting card sold featuring the entrant's design.
  • Royalties will be calculated quarterly and paid to the parent/guardian named on the entry form. Bank details for payment will be confirmed following artwork selection and confirmation that the artwork will be produced on a greeting card for sale. 
  • Hello Youngster will provide a summary of units sold with each royalty payment.
  1. Intellectual property and usage rights
  • By entering, the entrant and their parent/guardian grant Hello Youngster a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to reproduce, publish and use the artwork commercially and for promotional purposes.
  • Minor adjustments to formatting, layout or colour may be made to ensure consistency with card production requirements.
  1. Privacy and consent
  • Entrants’ personal information will only be used for administration of the competition and royalty payments.
  • With parent/guardian permission, the entrant's first name may be published on the greeting card and in promotional materials. Parents may opt out of this.
  • Data collected through the entry process will not be shared with third parties.
  1. General
  • Hello Youngster reserves the right to modify, cancel or amend the competition or these terms at any time.
  • No responsibility is taken for lost, misdirected or incomplete entries.
  • The decision of the Hello Youngster judging panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
