Hippos are large, heavy herbivores found in Africa's rivers and lakes. Calves are frequently born in water and can even be suckled while submerged. The hippopotamus calves have strong legs from birth, just like the Schleich Wild Life calves, and can walk soon after birth. These mammals' impressive, tusk-like canine teeth begin to grow after a couple of weeks.
